THE BRIEF

Last year, on a world wind tour of the Mediterranean, one of the stops was in Alexandria, Egypt. This gave me the chance to visit the Pyramids of Giza, located just outside of Cairo. That night was spent at the Fairmont Nile City Hotel, situated on the banks of the Nile River.

Upon entering the lobby doors, your bags are required, as an added security measure, to go through airport-style metal detectors and x-ray machines. After that, you find yourself in a magnificent and welcoming space and not just another counter to check in at. Even the hallways leading to the rooms were nicely adorned.

The room was beautiful, featuring a nice, large king bed and a view that looked out over the Nile below. It was fully equipped with all the amenities you would expect at a luxury hotel.

Even the slippers in the room were of the highest quality, and I kept them for my travels when I left.

The gym, like the rest of the hotel, was fully equipped with new machines and workout amenities.

THE DEBRIEF

A short but very pleasant stay was had at the Fairmont Nile. This is my kind of luxury hotel and definitely one of the better Marriotts I’ve visited. If you are in this part of the world, I would recommend staying here for at least one night.

👍👍👍
