THE BRIEF
It was time to end my stay in Panama City at the W HOTEL. Managers and staff gave me a fantastic send-off in the lobby before being whisked away in a private car to TOCUMEN AIRPORT. I had plenty of time to visit Duty-Free in this brand-new Terminal 2 and then I wanted to spend some time in the new Copa Club lounge.
Once you get through security you will see escalators that take you up to the club lounge entrance on the left. The entrance has nice polished stone and lots of greenery. There are lush plants all around the inside of the club as well to give it a tropical ambience.
The club is open to all passengers in Executive Class or Business Class travelling in Copa or in Star Alliance member airlines. It is also open to Priority Pass and Lounge Key cardholders. A full list of entrance eligibility can be found on the COPA CLUB website.
It was mid-afternoon when I arrived but the club was not very busy and there was plenty of nice seating available in the different sections.
A small modern looking bar was at one end of the lounge. You could also find a small buffet island that offered limited fare in both food and beverage. Best to have a meal before you arrive here I found.
THE DEBRIEF
This is a nice, modern, clean and comfortable place to hang out before the flight. There is plenty of seating and also a very nice business center to take advantage of. A media center and a quiet room were also available for your comfort. The food selection, in comparison to other clubs I’ve been to around the world, was just plain awful and as I mentioned earlier you should plan to eat before you get here. This brand-new terminal and club lounge are definitely worth a visit.
