THE BRIEF
I’ve not updated my last story on the World’s Best Airlines in quite some time so I thought I would do a new story every year on this topic. Obviously, the Covid Pandemic has had a terrible impact on all airlines and aviation in general. This does, however, present an opportunity to evaluate how the airlines responded and what the flying public thought of their recent experiences.
There are just a handful of airlines that seem to make all the rating agencies’ top 5 lists. My personal favourite, Singapore Airlines, along with Qatar Airways and Emirates Airlines earn high accolades from passengers and those who analyze the services and responses of airlines. Singapore Airlines retains its title by winning the Skytrax 2021 award for the World’s Best Cabin Crew, with ANA All Nippon Airways in second place, ahead of Thai Airways in third place.
Some of the rating people have put Qatar Airways in the number one spot. Qatar also won Best Business Class according to Skytrax as well. I have to agree that while all other airlines around the world were grounding their fleets, Qatar kept getting people around or, back to the country they came from, albeit at a hefty price tag.
ANA Airlines constantly gets top marks from fliers for a top-notch travel experience. ANA All Nippon Airways wins the Skytrax 2021 Award for Best Airline Cabin Cleanliness ahead of Singapore Airlines in 2nd place, and Japan Airlines in 3rd position. I’ve included EVA AIR in my top 5 as it consistently delivers excellent business-class products at a reasonable price. A tip of the cap goes to Delta Airlines for my pick as the best airline in North America.
