silverkris singapore REVIEW
overview
I was flying EVA AIR’S ROYAL LAUREL CLASS to Toronto via Taipei for the first time so I wanted to get to the airport early and review the check-in process as well as the business lounge. Check in was a breeze and security at the airport is highly automated and works very well. I was airside and heading for the lounge in no time at all. The First class, Business class and Private room are located in Terminal 3, level 3, near gate A. This is a Singapore Airlines SilverKris lounge but is open to Star Alliance traveler’s like Eva Air. At first glance I knew that I would be in for a treat relaxing in this fairly new facility. It was spacious and on the empty and quiet side which is just perfect for me.
There are plenty of comfortable seats to choose from and many are by the window but there is also plenty of individual seating for relaxing or catching up on your work. A business center can also be found in a separate room of the lounge. If you like your big screen TV for viewing there are many located throughout the seating areas.
Facilities are pretty standard for well run First or Business class lounges in any part of the world and include the following list:
Selection of warm food and light snacks
Bartender service
Business Center
Wireless Internet
Internet PCs
Restrooms
Wheelchair accessible restrooms
Shower
Nursing Room
TV
food and drinks
There is a good selection of warm and cold food. I was happy to see salads, soups, and fresh fruit on offer. It’s much easier to travel and still eat healthy these days and the SilverKris lounge delivers in this area.
the debrief
Like everything related to Singapore Airlines this SilverKris lounge is a step above many other Airlines. As a Star Alliance offering its a major level above the lounges you will find in North America. I thought it was great that even though I was flying Eva Air this was available for a bit of respite before the long flight. If you have a chance take advantage of it.
