BEST AIRLINES OF 2024
The Golden Cap goes to my choice of the best airline of the current year based on my personal experience with added input from other professional services such as Skytrax.
My top airlines have changed very little over the last few years. The order may change, but it seems the best do find ways to get better and leave everyone else in the dust.
You do notice that each airline has one or two things they are getting cited for. Singapore Airlines, for example, gets top marks from flyers for customer service, gourmet meals, and entertainment systems. ANA Airlines gets accolades for exceptional service, stellar safety record, and wonderful on-time performance. Emirates Airlines has comfortable wide-bodied aircraft and award-winning services. I prefer the Airbus A380-800 and Boeing 777–300ER they use when I’m flying.
1/ The Golden Cap this year goes to Singapore Airlines. They just keep getting better and better with constant upgrading going on across all operations. Their commitment to individual service is second to none and this coupled with modern, safe, aircraft that have a great on-time performance is always a winner with seasoned flyers.
2/The Silver Cap goes to ANA Airlines as it moves up on my list for award-winning service at a competitive price. It has also been ranked as the world’s best airline five times.
3/The Bronze Cap goes to my perennial favourite Emirates Airlines. I recently flew on them and found that some of their cabins are getting a little tired-looking. Same great service and food though, plus that stand-up bar in the back of the A380.
4/ An honourable mention goes to Qatar Airways. This one tops the list of many for its numerous awards such as world’s best business class, world’s best business class seat, the best airline in the Middle East, and world’s best business class lounge dining. It’s not in my top airlines because I find their prices are not competitive. I’ve not booked them many times because they were asking too much.
That’s it for 2024. Stay tuned for any changes that may happen and affect next year’s choices. A new Golden Cap will be awarded in 2025!
