ET AL RESTAURANT

THE BRIEF

ET AL is a trendy, chic, and casual dining spot and is Foodland’s offering in the trendy Kahala area of Honolulu. There are fresh pastries, sweet and savoury toasts and hearty dishes like loco moco and smoked meat benedict with meat from Foodland-owned HI Steaks for breakfast. Lunch choices like short rib arancini, ahi tartare, lobster roll, an amazing burger and pizzas. Dinner features include seasonal oysters, Ora King salmon, Hawai‘i Meats striploin and bone-in pork chop. There are also quick snacks available at the extensive bar which feature lei embroidered bar stools (very cool). The DINNER MENU features a seasonal offering reflecting the melting pot of cultural ingredients and cooking techniques in Hawaii and abroad.

We started with the seasonal oysters and added the short rib arancini. For the main course, we ordered the ora salmon and the bone-in pork chop. Cooked to perfection and delicious! This was accompanied by broadside Cabernet sauvignon “margarita vineyard”.

THE DEBRIEF

This venue has high ceilings and wide-open spaces with a modern Hawaiian decor that feels very comfortable. The food and drink were delectable and very filling. The restaurant shouldn’t be overlooked as a cocktail destination—not with Instagram- and drool-worthy libations like the Kāhala Sunset, Hunakai Sling, French Caribbean mai tai and Islay Boulevardier. There’s a smattering of local craft beers and bottled beers, plus mocktails, boozy brunch cocktails and wine.
