CONVENIENCE AND LUXURY

THE BRIEF

The GRAND HYATT MELBOURNE is where you will want to stay if you are planning to tour this lovely city. Effusing elegance in the historic heart of downtown The Grand Hyatt offers close access to many attractions. The locals call this the CBD or Central Business District and it’s very commonly referred to as the Paris end of Collins Street.

Beautiful Fitzroy Park is a 5-minute walk and a must-see. You will also be able to walk to the many bistros, bars, restaurants and points of interest. There are Trams that run on Collins Street and the Train Station is just blocks away as well. The Grand Hyatt Melbourne is also home to the hottest night club in Australia, THE SPICE MARKET which I will debrief soon.

Ample window seating in comfortable chairs will have you spending many enjoyable hours in this exclusive venue. It would be remiss of me not to mention the wonderful concierge staff. These folks couldn’t do enough for me. If they can help you out they will, or failing that, mention alternatives to consider. They are erudite on local attractions, current events, and items that might interest.

Without a doubt, one of the nicest conveniences available at many upper-end Hyatt’s would be the business lounge. Not only a great place to hold a meeting or catch up on your work, but it also offers breakfast in the morning and canapés in the evening. It’s not just snacks folks, the meals are works of art and the staff takes great pride in them. A nice compliment of beer, wine, and assorted spirits are offered in the evening as well. Tea, coffee, juices, water and snacks are provided during lounge hours for your enjoyment.

THE AMENITIES

I’ve been to innumerable hotels in my day. Never have I seen a gigantic gym and fitness center such as the one you will find at Grand Hyatt Melbourne. It’s a beauty and the largest in Australia. Very well equipped and with full services to address your needs. These include aerobics, yoga, and Pilates. It’s a major health and fitness facility that serves the CBD 24 hours a day. As a guest of the hotel, you will have free access to it during your stay. My advice is to take advantage of it.

THE DEBRIEF

If you’re on business, or just looking to indulge a little, The Grand Hyatt Melbourne is the place for you.  For convenience and comfort, this establishment gets top marks. The only downside I found, and this is a personal pet peeve, is that there are no balconies and the hallways can be quite noisy particularly in the morning.    👍👍👍
